FOUNDATION STAGE
The Early Years Foundation Stage consists of Pre-Kg, Foundation Stage 1 and Foundation Stage 2. This period in your child's life is an important developmental stage when they discover themselves and the world around them. Children are taught in small groups by well qualified teachers in dedicated, spacious environments, designed and equipped for young children. The class teacher and her assistant give every child the individual care and attention they need to ensure they reach their full potential.
The curriculum is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage consists of six areas of learning (Communication, Language and Literacy, Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, and Creative Development). Activities are cross curricular and linked through themes.
AIMS OF THE EARLY YEARS PROGRAMME FOR CHILDREN:
- To develop skills in spoken English and a strong foundation of key skills on which to build future learning
- Be able to express their ideas freely through language, art, music and role play in both English and Arabic.
- To make friends and learn to play cooperatively and being sensitive and caring towards others.
- To be familiar with simple ICT.
- To develop a positive attitude to learning.
- To aquire a certificate giving them access to any Y1 class in private or state education in Kuwait and worldwide.
KEY STAGE 1 & 2
The Primary Years Schools in Salmiya ans Salwa have a warm, friendly, energetic and caring atmosphere in which younger children can embark on their school life, following the successful completion of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
We offer the best in modern education with the resources to ensure a caring and supportive teaching and learning environment for all pupils, whilst following the English National Curriculum for Key Stages 1 & 2 (ages 5 to 11). Highly qualified teachers deliver classes, with a maximun size of 24 students, using recognized and established schemes from the UK. Specialist lessons, such as Art, ICT, Design, Music, Technology, Science and PE are taught in dedicated learning environments by specialist teachers. The Kuwait Ministry of Education Curriculum is followed for the delivery of Arabic, Islamic Studies and Kuwait Social Studies. We have a learning support programme and Arabic as a foreign language for non-native Arabic speakers and specialist Islamic classes for students.

Careful planning has resulted in wide ranging and stimulating activities to creatively deliver the curriculum, nurturing confidence, independence, social skills, positive attitudes towards learning, and a broad skills base to develop the pupil as a whole.
