    Transport:

The English Playgroup & Primary School operates a fleet of buses which service the majority of areas in and around the Kuwait City. Students are collected from their homes in the morning and returned after school. The children in all buses are supervised by an adult in addition to the driver. High standards of behaviour are expected of all students whilst traveling in school buses. The cost of one year transportation is KD 160 for near areas and KD 200 for distant areas. This fee is payable in two installments (Sept & Jan.) to the school office. To arrange transport, parents should contact the school administration.

    Health and Safety:

The school has a clinic with a registered nurse in attendance at all times during the day. If the student is absent trough illness parents should inform the school.  When a students returns to school a note should be brought explaining the absence. For an absence for more than 3 days a doctor’s note must be sent to school. It is of the utmost importance that the school has up to date emergency contact telephone numbers for tall parents. Should any of this change, parents should inform the school immediately. This will enable the school to act more quickly in the unfortunate event of an accident at school.

    Settling In:

On your first day it is quite normal for both parent and child to feel nervous. Please do not worry about this; we are only interested in making you both feel welcome and at ease. During the first two weeks we feel it is advisable that one of the parents deliver and collect the child at regular times. It is always important to say goodbye to your child and be prompt when collecting them at the end of the session. It is also important not to absent your child during this crucial time. We recommend you stay only if your child is in distress as it is important for your child to start to develop his/her independence and to establish a routine. Many years of child care has shown that some children, more than others, may find it difficult to settle.

    Good Behaviour:

At The English Playgroup and Primary School we believe that good behaviour is achieved through example and encouragement. It is based on the concept of mutual respect which has to be earned. Good behaviour is essential for good teaching and learning which ultimately helps students to fulfill their potential. To achieve good behaviour, parents and the school must work together. Good behaviour will only be achieved if the approach used at school is supported and re-inforced at home. Despite the best efforts of staff and parents, some students will make mistakes and the school will work with parents in partnership for the child to accept the consequences of their behaviour.

    School Meals:

All pupils are provided with a wholesome and healthy meal that varies on a daily basis. The school promotes good nutrition and thus encourage children to bring healthy food such as fruits, vegetables, biscuits, milk, juice, etc. as snacks. Chocolates, sugary snacks, chips, and sodas are strongly discouraged.

Meals are served by student assistants, children are encouraged to be independent and polite, helping themselves to eat and to be responsible for cleaning away their own plates and to say "please" and "thank you".

The children wash their hands before and after meals.

    • Pre-KG, Listener, and FS1
      • Breakfast and snack are provided by the school for free however, children are allowed to bring extra food and drinks, but fizzy drinks and sweets are not allowed.
